For this week’s blog assignment, you will be creating your own Avatar(s). Before creating your Avatar, you need to decide what your Avatar will say – a greeting, famous quote, rooting on your beloved team, etc. Your recorded voice should be no less than 20 seconds long.
To record your voice, you will need a microphone and a script (e.g. what you want to say). Keep in mind the quality of your voice when recording. Your voice should sound natural, like you would really talk, not like you are reading from a script. Make it animated by using voice inflection! Once you finalized your script, practice it out loud 2 or 3 times before you record. When you have practiced and ready to begin, follow the following steps:
1. Plug microphone in
2. With your mouse, select start / accessories / entertainment / sound recording
3. Select red button to record
4. Play back, if you like it, save it to your P drive under project folder
5. If you don't like it, select file new, don't save, and record again.
6. Once your recording is completed and you have saved it to your P drive, you are ready to make your Voki Avatar

After you’ve created your Avatar, come back to the blog and comment on your experience in creating your Avatar. Was it fun? What did you have trouble with? How could this Avatar be used?
In my opinion, I think it was fun. I had trouble finding things to create my Avatar with, and the audio part. This Avatar can be used for profile pictures, having fun, and messing around.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was creating my avatar on Voki, I found it quite fun. I was able to use either a famous person or a cartoon person and create it to become me. I had trouble recording my voice because I couldn’t make it long enough to 20 seconds, which meant just saying more things or sayings. This avatar could be used as a picture on a profile you have, for your blog, Facebook account, MySpace account, or email, instead of using a real picture of yourself.
ReplyDelete1. Yes is was quite fun, a little confusing but fun.
ReplyDelete2.I had trouble on what to say, and choosing what to use.
3. This avatar could be used for a greeting card to send to a friend.
Making my Avatar was fun. I had to get out of my comfort zone since i dont like recording things in front of people, but other than that it was good. I had a hard time witht he recorder and recording myself. This avatar could be used for a profile picture for a Facebook account, e-mail, or twitter account.
ReplyDeleteI think Vokie was fun and the only thing I had trouble with was trying to fogure out what to say. You can you this avatar for a card or something just really random like sending it to a friend for no reason.
ReplyDeleteI think it was very fun it was dumb that characters had set piecies though. I kinda had trouble with tinking of what to say. I could use it as my profile picture.
ReplyDelete1. Makeing my avatar was dificult, everything was glitchy. But it was fun.
ReplyDelete2. The objects on voki.com would not work.
3.This avatar could be used for profile pictures.
In my own opinion i think it was not bad it was fun, although i had a bit of problems to find some things at first but afterwords i got it all under-control. Like where the audio part thingy and the saving part was a bit confusing. although i figured it out. This avatar can be used for like messing around or like just having fun, or even using it as profile pictures. Profile Pictures for example for facebook, twitter, emails, and much more
ReplyDeleteI think that Voki was just a giant pain when trying to figure out what to do. I had fun making an avatar but, it was hard. I think that the Voki will never be useful to anyone ever.
ReplyDeleteI thank Voki is fun but some thing could be diffrent. The thing I had trouble with was the sound. This avatar could be used for a picture whare you dont want to show your face but want a picture on a there.
ReplyDelete1. In my opinion, I thought that using the Voki's was really fun. We got to create a little character and dress it up and all sorts of things.
ReplyDelete2. One trouble I had was figuring out what to have my Voki say. It was a lot harder than I thought it was goint to be.
3. You could use your Voki as a profile picture on your blog or social networking site. You could also send it to friends to show them your Voki.
1. I enjoyed creating an Avatar in class because it was an assignment that required creativity and personality.
ReplyDelete2. The only step I had difficulty with was creating the recording of my voice. Trying to figure out what to say, how to say it, and to make it last at least twenty seconds was a challenge but a great way to add personality to our Avatars.
3. The Avatar I created was a way of symbolizing or resembling me without using a real picture of me.
